The tale of the house

Once upon a time, in the 19th century, a house of stone and timber was built in Zgornje Gorje, beneath the forests of Pokljuka and a stone's throw from the church of St George. For generations it heard the church bells, smelled of wood smoke and watched the seasons come down from the mountains.

Because the house is protected as cultural heritage, we restored it completely in 2025, with great care and in line with heritage protection. We kept the old beams, gave the timber of the original house a new life and brought the carved wood back. We only added what old houses never knew: deep mattresses, stone bathrooms, a private sauna and warm water at any hour. And so the house welcomes guests again, now from all over the world.
